A Second Life Ethnography Blog

It’s been more than three years since I opened this account with the intention of recording my thoughts on Cypris, a language learning community within Second Life (SL).  Now that I’m in serious research mode with my dissertation research, I think it’s time I actually used it.  Moreover, as Second Life slowly winds down as a platform, it behooves me to focus not only on Cypris, but on as many other aspects of SL.  The ultimate goal of this project is a book for general audiences explaining the phenomenon that is SL.

To the end, this blog will be less a research journal and more a sounding board for questions (rhetorical and otherwise) that I’m hoping those in SL can provide input on.
